Membership
The Society welcomes all workers and institutions in India and abroad engaged in research, teaching, development, soybean-based industry, extension and other scientific pursuits in different disciplines.
Categories of membership
- Annual Members — individuals engaged in soybean research, teaching or extension. Receive the journal free of charge, and gain voting rights after three years of membership.
- Life Members — pay ten years of annual subscription in advance, or in three instalments over six months. Receive all Annual Member benefits plus exemption from ongoing fees. Life membership does not give access to journals published before enrolment.
- Honorary Members — distinguished contributors selected by a three-quarters majority vote, for five-year terms. Limited to ten members in total, with a maximum of two elected in any year. Receive member benefits and fee exemptions, but may not vote or hold office.
- Student Members — students of colleges and institutes, paying the annual subscription. Receive all privileges except voting and eligibility for office.
- Institutional Members — scientific and educational organizations, paying the annual institutional subscription for journal access and member benefits. Excludes voting rights.
- Corporate Members — industrial and voluntary organizations. Nominate one representative who receives Life Member privileges.
- Patron — eminent individuals declared by the Executive Council. Receive member benefits except voting and eligibility for office.
Proxy voting is not permitted. Life, Annual and Student Members may introduce visitors to the Society's scientific meetings.

Add an admission fee of ₹50 or US$5 to the above subscription. Rates effective 1 July 2020.
Note: the legacy Membership Benefits page quoted ₹2,000 for institutional annual membership while every other page quoted ₹5,000. The ₹5,000 rate, effective 1 July 2020, is reproduced above and is pending confirmation by the Society.
